Flat white flower clusters. Leaves are a favorite for leaf cutter bees.

Best grown in rich, consistently moist soils in full sun to part shade. Tolerant of swampy or boggy conditions.

Although pruning is not required, many gardeners choose to remove 20-25% of the oldest stems in early spring of each year to stimulate new growth, which will display the deepest red. Trim roots with a spade and cut back suckers if colonial spread is undesired.
